   I love making crabs , the colors I can use are fun and bright and I never would have thought of doing them at all until years ago the owner of Garden Place in Richmond suggested it. She was right. First of all , I enjoy them and second, I sell a lot of them. Which brings me to another aspect of working with a gallery or other outlet for your work. Listen to  the people who sell your work.  They're the ones who hear customer comments and know what they like or what they might like in the future.  Another place that I've worked with for a long time is New Mountain Mercantile in Floyd , Virginia, they didn't like the hanging mechanism that I was using at the time so they helped figure out a better way to do it. That sort of thing helps you , or in this case, me to sell more handmade ceramic crabs for example to happier people which allows me to keep doing it. It's just like that Elton John song from the Lion King but without the dying. And with more ceramic crabs.
