Merry Christmas ! Here's your Octopus..

     Seriously , tiny sea creature ornaments make good Christmas presents judging from past sales.   So, a big problem with making small delicate clay sculptures like this octopus is that as the clay dries so does the paper that it's resting on.  That drying of the paper can break a tentacle or any other small part right off.  So, when I'm finished with a work and I'm ready to start drying I weigh them down with terracota tile. Usually it works , we'll see what happens with this little octopus, he's only 2 inches or so.
