Glazing. In 3-d !!!

It's hard to imagine looking at it now but this dragonfly's glaze will be ( hopefully, if it works out ) a translucent green. It will be layered with other colors that are opaque and will "float" on top. Sort of a 3-d effect of 'veins" on it's wings.  I love glazing once I start firing because you can instantly, or at least a day later, see the results. It doesn't work as well to glaze as I go along because generally I'm so much better at it creatively if I do it all at once.  That way I can express eight different glazing ideas at once and see which ones I love. Test tiles help but there are infinite ways to combine glazes to create depth so sometimes ( and pardon me for the pun) I just wing it!

Dragonfly Tuesday

A Dragonfly is born!  I would show the finished work but I just did this, it will take at least a few days to dry.

Hopefully, during the drying, it won't crack. Sometimes it happens that a wing will fall off at which time the swearing begins. It doesn't help the dragonfly but it does make me feel a little better.
